According to a 2023 study, 67 percent of Black audiences in the United States were more inclined to watch shows featuring lead actors of the same ethnic group. Similarly, 58 percent of white individuals and 37 percent of Asian audiences expressed a preference for shows with leads of the same race. In contrast, the share of Hispanic viewers was notably lower, standing at just 21 percent.
