In 2023, there were around 4.3 marriages per 1,000 residents in Germany. This was a slight decrease compared to the previous year. 2018 saw the highest number of marriages per 1,000 residents, in recent years, this is probably because that was the year that same-sex marriage was legalized in Germany.
