In 2023, there were over 8.8 million guests in the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon. Most of them stayed in hotels, more than 7.1 million, while almost 1.7 million looked for local accommodation. Rural and housing tourism (TER and TH) counted just 37,000 guests.
