In the year 2023, CNG passenger cars in India had the lowest average price of just 0.9 million Indian rupees. On the other hand, hybrid cars, on average, cost 2.5 million rupees, almost three times more than CNG cars. During 2023, the majority of cars sold in India were petrol cars. Meanwhile, electric and hybrid cars together had a market share of 4.3 percent.
