In-store QR code payment value in Japan 2022-2023

In 2023, QR code and barcode payments worth around 12 trillion Japanese yen were made at physical stores in Japan. Payments in physical stores accounted for the majority of the total amount of QR code payments. The number of in-store QR code payments exceeded over eight billion.
