In 2024, the annual value of the 2024 to 2026 broadcast rights deal between Sky Sports and the Super League in the United Kingdom was estimated at 21.5 million British pounds. This was less than half the annual value of the previous TV rights cycle, which ran from 2022 to 2023.
The Rugby Football League (RFL), which is the governing body for rugby league in Great Britain, finalized a strategic partnership with sports, fashion, and media company IMG in 2022. Under this new partnership, the broadcast deal for 2024 to 2026 afforded the commercial arm of the RFL the freedom to also broadcast the Super League on its own streaming platform - SuperLeague+ - as well as free-to-air TV.
