As of 2024, the most successful rugby league clubs in the history of the World Club Challenge were the Wigan Warriors and Sydney Roosters, with five titles apiece. The Warriors' last title win came in 2024, beating the Penrith Panthers 16-12 at home.

The World Club Challenge sees the champions of the highest tiers of rugby league in Great Britain and Australasia compete annually for the right to be named the best league side in the world.
