According to a survey on the news industry in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region in 2022, quality of news was the top reason 52 percent of respondents in the United Arab Emirates consumed paid news. This was also the case for 42 and 40 percent of respondents in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, respectively.
