By quarter three of 2023, the total assets of banks in the United Arab Emirates reached 1.03 trillion U.S. dollars. While conventional banks witnessed a consistent increase in assets each quarter, Islamic banks recorded two periods of decline, namely in the fourth quarter of 2021 and the third quarter of 2022.
