Shopping center quarterly visits annual change in the U.S. in 2023, by mall type

In 2023, the visits to indoor malls in the United States compared to the previous year increased in each quarter. This growth was especially high in the first quarter, at eight percent. Open-air shopping centers also saw visits increase in each quarter. In the fourth quarter of 2023, the number of visits to outlet malls decreased by 3.2 percent compared to Q4 of 2022.
