Share of women directors in total directors in boards India FY 2019-2022
The share of women directors in corporate boardrooms of leading Indian companies increased from 16 percent in 2021 to 18 percent in 2022. The total number of women directors in Indian corporate boardrooms of leading Indian companies increased from 166 in 2021 to 194 in 2022. The Securities and Exchange Board of India mandates at least one independent women director for the top 500 listed entities, however, there is no so such condition for women executive directors.
