In France, in 2022, 68 percent of the new immigrants declared that they were employed. On the other hand, 11 percent of them were unemployed. That year, around six percent of the new immigrants were students. In comparison, in 2019, students represented 12 percent if immigrants.

The new immigrants were interviewed for the first time in 2019, then in 2020 and 2022. Each time, they had to report their status as an activity and, if appropriate, the conditions under which they carried out their work.
