Blood component bags discarded in Brazil 2020, by type

In 2020, approximately two million bags of blood components were disposed in Brazil out of five million produced bags, most of which were accounted for by fresh frozen plasma (FFP). That year, over one million bags of FFP in the country were discarded. In comparison, white blood cells (WBCs) accounted for 354 disposals.
