A 2023 survey of teenagers in the United States found that nearly 30 percent watched videos on YouTube because the platform had their favorite content. A quarter of respondents aged 13 to 17 years, said they do so to spend some time alone. A further 15 percent of U.S. teens said watching YouTube videos was something to do while eating.
