In 2021, 74 percent of people in the richest 60 percent of the population in Ghana made or received digital payments. This was a considerable increase from the share in 2017. By comparison, the share of digital payments among the poorest 40 percent in the country was lower in both years under review, increasing, however, from 41 percent to 53 percent in 2021.
