Reasons why tourists chose to visit South Korea 2023, by gender
According to a survey conducted in South Korea throughout 2023, the most common reason for female tourists to visit the country was shopping, at around 62 percent. For male respondents it was the food, at about 59 percent. While they had many reasons in common, there were some significant differences. Female tourists were more likely to visit South Korea for K-pop or other hallyu-related activities as well as for beauty.
