Muyuan Foodstuff recorded the largest annual emissions growth among the world's largest meat and dairy producers in 2023. The Chinese food company, which operates the world's largest pig farm, saw its emissions increase by 23 percent year-on-year.
The Brazilian meat processing firm JBS had emissions growth of six percent in 2023. JBS was the most polluting meat and dairy company in the world that year, with emissions of more than 70 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent.
