Global net fossil fuel supply 2021, by country

China was the largest net consumer of fossil fuels in 2021. That year, China reported a net supply of around 135.4 exajoules worth of fossil fuels consumed domestically. This compared to a net supply of some 76.5 exajoules for people in the United States.
