According to a July 2023 survey conducted in Mexico on consumers' perception of the impact of rising electricity prices on the usage of electric vehicles (EVs) as compared to internal combustion engine vehicles (ICEs), over eight in ten respondents believed using EVs would be too expensive as a result of this price increase, compared to using ICEs.
Mexican consumer perception of whether increasing electricity prices could make using an electric vehicle too expensive compared to internal combustion cars, as of July 2023
Original survey question: “Do you think that the rising price of electricity could make using an electric car too expensive when compared with petrol or diesel cars?"
Respondents came from national samples from each country. The quota approach was employed to ensure that the sample was representative of gender and age.
