In 2022, the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) recorded a total of 671 pay television (TV) stations with a permanent broadcasting license. KPI also recorded a total of 408 commercial TV stations who have migrated to digital TV. A permanent TV broadcasting license in Indonesia must be renewed every ten years. This license can be obtained after a one-year trial period.
