According to a survey conducted in China in January 2024, the majority of respondents who planned on purchasing Chinese New Year gift sets bought or intended to buy gift boxes with food/snacks such as nuts, dairy products, sweets, and also alcohol and tea. In addition to food boxes, around 29 percent of respondents chose to buy gift-packaged health-related products such as vitamins or dietary supplements and 24 percent wanted to purchase cosmetics or skincare gift sets as New Year presents.
