In the first half of 2023, Conti ransomware was the most common among all ransomware families, encountered by around 14 percent of the users. The second-ranked Lockbit accounted for 9.4 percent prevalence, while STOP Ransomware followed with approximately eight percent. Ransomware is a type of malware that blocks access to the victim's personal data unless a ransom is paid.
