Distribution of BMI in South Korea 2022, by gender

In 2022, around 50 percent of men and 65 percent of women who underwent health screenings in South Korea had a body mass index (BMI) between 18.5 and 25, which is considered a healthy range. Almost one in two men and around 29 percent of women were within the obese range of the BMI scale.
