In 2022, around 57 percent of people who underwent a health screening in South Korea had a body mass index (BMI) between 18.5 and 25, which is considered a healthy range. About 39.5 percent were considered to be obese, with the majority in stage 1 having a BMI in the range of 25 and 30.
