In 2023, Canada boasted approximately 103 advanced mining projects for critical minerals, distributed across its provinces and territories, with the exception of Prince Edward Island. The government of Canada has established a list of 31 minerals that are deemed critical minerals, and as of present, Canada is able to produce only 21 of these minerals domestically.

Saskatchewan: advanced projects, mines, and smelters or refineries for uranium, potash, and helium.
Yukon: advanced projects for copper and tungsten.
