In 2022, Turkey had the highest rate of respiratory-related cancer deaths in the Middle East and North Africa at 45 deaths per 100,000 people. This was nearly double that of Tunisia which had the second highest rate in the region. All countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council had a rate of respiratory cancer deaths below five.
