In 2023, 26 percent of IT professionals globally relied on edge computing, while only 5 percent used colocation facilities. In the next 12 months, the share of respondents who anticipated using edge computing increased to 30 percent, whereas only 8 percent of respondents expected to still be using mainframe structure compared to 10 percent who stated that they currently use it.
