As of 2022, health facilities in Greater Accra registered the highest number of maternity beds in Ghana, with over 200 beds. The Ashanti and Eastern regions followed with dedicated maternity beds reaching 173 and 150, respectively. On the other hand, the Ahafo region reported the least number of beds dedicated to expecting mothers. Overall, the proportion of the availability of maternity health care facilities in the country is lower for rural communities.
