MAN: vehicle sales 2019-2023, by segment

In 2019, MAN vehicle sales were as high as 82.7 thousand trucks, 7.4 thousand buses, and 15 thousand TGE vans sold. However, through 2020, vehicle sales fell sharply, with 59 thousand trucks and 5.3 thousand buses sold, although the number of TGE vans kept rising to 17.6 thousand. 2021 saw a revitalization of the lost sales, with units sold rising to 67 thousand trucks, 4.6 thousand buses, and 22.2 thousand TGE vans sold. This gradual recovery continued into 2022 and 2023, with 5.7 thousand buses, 84 thousand trucks, and 26.6 thousand TGE vans sold.

The sharp period of decline in vehicle sales during 2020 was in the midst of both the COVID-19 pandemic and global semiconductor shortages. It was not only MAN that suffered such losses as the number of cars sold worldwide suffered a decline during that same period.
