Scania: production 2016-2023, by segment

Scania's main production is trucks. Through 2016 to 2018, Scania saw a period of steady growth with truck production climbing from about 75 thousand in 2016 up to about 93 thousand in 2018. In 2020, Scania saw a decline in production to about 67 thousand units. However, production increased significantly in 2021 with about 90 thousand units, shortly fell to 82 thousand in 2022, and climbed to 97 thousand in 2023.

The brief period of decline in production was in the midst of both the COVID-19 pandemic and global semiconductor shortages. It was not only Scania that suffered such losses as the number of cars sold worldwide suffered a decline during that same period.
