A survey conducted in July 2023 in the United States found that consumers from younger generations were more likely to use biometric methods to validate an online purchase. Over one-half of Gen Z respondents reported using facial recognition, versus around 5 percent among Baby boomers and seniors. Overall, Millennials constituted the generation who most used biometric authentication for online purchases, with approximately three-quarters of respondents reporting using such methods.
