The average net annual earnings of a couple without children in the EU rose from 42,453 Euros a year in 2013, to 52,308 Euros in 2022. While gross earnings fell in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this was compensated for by decreases in taxes, meaning that net earnings have increased consistently throughout this entire period.
