According to a survey about sustainable consumption conducted by Rakuten Insight in Taiwan in December 2023, around 38 percent of female and 37 percent of male respondents who did not adopt any sustainable practices when purchasing items in the past 12 months said that they did not have enough information on hand to make sustainable choices. Interestingly, a significantly larger proportion of men than women were convinced that sustainable consumption practices did not make any difference.

Survey question:
"[If you have not adopted any sustainable practices when purchasing items in the last 12 months], why have you not adopted sustainable consumption practices? (choose up to three options that apply)"
Among the total of 1,770 respondents, 869 were female and 901 were male.
