In most G20 countries, labor force participation was higher among young men than among young women. The two exceptions were South Korea and South Africa. On the other hand, the gap was highest in India, with a difference of 43 percentage points, underlining the more traditional role of women in the South Asian country. Meanwhile, South Africa was the G20 member with the highest youth unemployment rate.
