In 2023, the most preferred security authentication method to sign-in to online accounts, apps, and smart devices was biometrics, for example fingerprint or face scan. Overall, biometric authentication was used by 27 percent of respondents among consumers in various countries. Singapore had the highest share of respondents who used biometrics as a sign-in method in 2023, at 41 percent.
