According to a survey about sustainable consumption conducted by Rakuten Insight in Taiwan in December 2023, around 30 percent of respondents aged above 54 years said that it was very important to them that the products they purchased were sustainbly-made/packaged or environmentally-friendly. In comparison, 27 percent of the youngest respondents shared this opinion. Different from the survey results in Hong Kong, consumer age in Taiwan was not a big factor when making sustainable purchase decisions.

Survey question:
"How important is it to you that the products you purchase are sustainably-made/packaged or environmentally-friendly?"
Among the total of 11,917 survey respondents, 2,332 were between 16 and 24 years old, 3,554 were between 25 and 34 years old, 3,213 were between 35 and 44 years old, 1,920 were between 45 and 54 years old, and 898 were 55 years or older.
