In 2023, Brazil was the largest meat producer in Latin America for all meat categories, with a total of over 29.7 million metric tons of meat produced. Poultry meat accounted for about 15 million metric tons. Brazil also produced around nine million metric tons CWE of beef and veal, and over five million metric tons CWE of pork meat.
Mexico was the second-largest producer of meat, with a total production volume of 7.7 million metric tons of meat. Its largest category was poultry meat production, with a reported volume of 3.8 million metric tons. Mexico is also the second-largest producer of pork.
Argentina, on the other hand, is the second-largest producer of beef and veal meat. In 2023, it recorded a production volume of 3.2 million metric tons.
