In 2023, the total sales revenue earned by the Traton Group was approximately 45.7 billion euros. About 17.9 billion euros worth was earned through its Scania branch, mostly operating in Europe. The second highest amount in sales revenue came from MAN, earning about 14.8 billion euros. Although, the Navistar acquisition was only two years prior in 2021, it generated a comparable 11 billion euros in revenue. Finally, Volkswagen Truck and Bus generated about 2.5 billion euros in revenue, with the rest being due to the financial services offered by the Traton Group, valued at around 1.6 billion euros.
The brief period of decline in operating result was in the midst of both the COVID-19 pandemic and global semiconductor shortages. It was not only the Traton Group that suffered such losses as the number of cars sold worldwide suffered a decline during that same period.
