According to Google's report on ad transparency, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spent 399 million Indian rupees, or over 63 percent of its online advertising budget, on ad videos on Google between 2018 and 2024. Images were the next most opted for ad format. The ruling party was among the biggest spenders on political advertising in India, having spent well over 600 million rupees on Google ads alone over the surveyed period.
