A 2023 survey revealed that according to UK and U.S. adults, the type of website content most worth paying for was entertainment, with 34 percent and 41 percent respectively saying they felt that there was value in investing money in online movies, TV, or music. By contrast, paid online news content was substantially less appealing, particularly among UK consumers, of whom just 11 percent said they felt it would be worth paying for, compares to 21 percent of U.S. adults.
