In 2023, e-commerce leaders gave insight into the emerging roles in e-commerce worldwide. Category manager had the highest share of respondents, around 43 percent, underscoring its prominence as the top emerging dedicated e-commerce role. Strategy and omnichannel account managers (AM) or customer sales roles followed closely, each garnering about four out of ten mentions among surveyed leaders.

The survey gathered 383 responses from eCommerce leaders across APAC, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and North America. Respondents covered industry verticals including Food & beverage, Health & Beauty, Home Goods, Non-edible CPG, and other Hardlines, such as electronics and sporting goods.
