According to Google's report on ad transparency, the Indian National Congress (INC), one of India's major national political parties, spent just under 130 million Indian rupees on advertising on Google Ads in 2023. Over the past five years, the party spent over 140 million rupees on more than a thousand online ads. The lion's share of it was spent towards the end of 2023 leading up to the national elections to be held in 2024.
