According to a July 2023 survey about the restricted zones set up to improve air quality in the United Kingdom, 83 percent of British respondents agreed that these environmental zones are unfair to low-income households who cannot get modern vehicles allowed in these zones. Furthermore, just over seven in ten British respondents completely or somewhat agreed that the restricted zones' schedule to improve air quality is too demanding.

Original survey question: "Do you agree or disagree with each of the following statements about these restricted zones set up to improve air quality (ULEZs)?" Results for each statement are subtotals. The subtotal "agree" includes respondents who selected "completely agree" or "somewhat agree" when answering the survey question. The subtotal "disagree" includes respondents who selected "completely disagree" or "somewhat disagree" when answering the survey question.
Respondents came from national samples from each country. The quota approach was employed to ensure that the sample was representative of gender and age.
