In order to meet the objectives set by the European Union in the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR), the volume of public electric vehicle chargers in Spain would need to reach over 183,900 by 2030 and around 22,000 by 2024. With nearly 30,400 charging points as of the fourth quarter of 2023, Spain was slightly ahead of the objective.
