According to a July 2023 survey about the ban on combustion vehicles in 10 to 15 years in France, 84 percent of French consumers agreed that this ban is unfair to households who will not be able to sell their combustion engine vehicles. Furthermore, nearly three quarters of French respondents completely or somewhat agreed that the implementation schedule of this policy is too tight.

Original survey question: "In some countries, regulations have been introduced that will ban the sale of combustion vehicles (petrol, diesel, hybrid) in 10 to 15 years’ time to combat air pollution. Do you agree or disagree with each of the following statements about this ban on the sale of combustion vehicles?" Results for each statement are subtotals. The subtotal "agree" includes respondents who selected "completely agree" or "somewhat agree" when answering the survey question. The subtotal "disagree" includes respondents who selected "completely disagree" or "somewhat disagree" when answering the survey question.
Respondents came from national samples from each country. The quota approach was employed to ensure that the sample was representative of gender and age.
