According to exit polls for the 2024 Iowa Republican caucuses, former President Donald Trump led the way among voters self-described as "very conservative." The vote was split more evenly among those identified as "somewhat conservative," with 47 percent voting for Trump, 18 percent for DeSantis, and 25 percent for Haley. DeSantis, Ramaswamy, and Hutchinson dropped out of the presidential race shortly after the Iowa caucuses

According to exit polls, those who reported themselves as very conservative made of 52 percent of the voters, somewhat conservative 37 percent, and those moderate or liberal 11 percent.
