In the period 2017 to 2021, the most common molecular subtype of breast cancer among white women in the United States was hormone receptor positive/human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 negative (HR+/HER2-), accounting for 73 percent of cases. This subtype is usually less aggressive and slower growing than other subtypes.
