Nearly 181,000 British pounds were attributed to the installation of charging sockets in the United Kingdom in December 2022, as part of the Electric Vehicle Chargepoint Grant. Grant amount across the recorded period peaked in September of that same year, when it reached over 437,500 British pounds. The EVCG was preceded by the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) and the Domestic Recharge Scheme, which partly explains the lower values recorded in March and April 2022, as the EVHS was still in place.
Total monthly grant amount attributed to charger installation in the United Kingdom as part of the Electric Vehicle Chargepoint Grant between March 2022 and June 2023
(in British pounds)
The month refers to when the Electric Vehicle Chargepoint Grant (EVCG) charging device was installed, not when the grant was paid.Â
The source specifies that: "Grants can take several months to process and the most recent quarters are most likely to be undercounted, especially the second quarter of 2023. The grants can be broken down into three categories; residential car parks, flats and renters and landlords. The statistics should therefore be treated as provisional."
