UK: on-street EV charging points by leading network as of January 2024

As of January 2024, ubitricity operated 6,764 charging points across the country, more than double the number of its closest competitor, Char.gy, which had 2,911 points in service.

While ubitricity dominated the on-street charging sector, the overall UK charging network presented a diverse picture. BP Pulse and POD Point followed ubitricity in total charging points nationwide, with approximately 5,200 and 3,100 ports respectively. This broader view demonstrates that different providers are focusing on various segments of the EV charging market.

Accessibility and future growth

Most of ubitricity's charging points were accessible without a subscription, enhancing convenience for EV users. However, some networks like SureCharge/FM Conway and Charge Your Car primarily operated on subscription models. Looking ahead, several leading networks were planning expansions, with ChargePlace Scotland aiming to add 45 new charging stations. This ongoing development suggests that the UK's EV charging infrastructure will continue to grow and diversify to meet increasing demand.
