The highest production value of PDO (protected designation of origin) and PGI (protected geographical indication) quality labels products in Italy was generated by two cheeses, Grana Padano DOP and Parmigiano Reggiano DOP, both generating over 1.7 million euros. Prosciutto di Parma DOP came third with an added value of 932 million euros.
